20 years of helping young people grow and thrive

Since 2006, Stable & Wild has been supporting children and young people who face barriers to education, helping them build confidence, reconnect with learning and move towards a positive future.

Set within our rural Bedfordshire environment, we combine animals, nature and a trauma-informed, therapeutic approach to education to support children and young people from age 5 through to post-16.

We support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Emotionally Based School Non-Attendance (EBSNA) and other barriers to education, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

From early intervention and emotional regulation to re-engagement, alternative provision and recognised qualifications, our highly personalised programmes provide flexible support through individual sessions, small groups and structured learning pathways.

Through meaningful experiences with animals and the natural world, we help young people develop confidence, positive relationships, resilience and transferable skills that extend beyond Stable & Wild into education, home and everyday life.

“I think J has really enjoyed his time [at Stable & Wild]. He’s enjoyed being able to spend time outdoors, with animals, and be away from the formal school setting. I know he really liked spending time with the animals and we all had a good laugh when he came home and did his impression of Jack the donkey. I think it's been invaluable for him to have some space to do something different and in a small group setting. I am pretty sure he'll miss it once he stops going.
